ArtsPond is seeking new volunteer board members and advisory circle members to help guide our next chapter. Who we are looking for:
- Must be 18+ and live in Canada
- Passionate about the intersections between arts, culture, technology, and social justice, especially disability and accessibility justice in the digital world.
- We welcome applications from people who identify as Deaf, Mad, Disabled, Youth (18 to 35), 2SLGBTQIA+, Racialized, Francophone, Women/Trans/Non-binary, Indigenous, Newcomers, from urban, suburban, rural or remote areas, and other justice-deserving groups.
- Experience in areas like arts and culture, technology, education, finance, law, marketing, fundraising, accessibility, or strategy is an asset.
The responsibilities of board and advisory circle members include:
- Board members
- Board members help guide the organization and make sure it is well-run, financially responsible, and true to its mission. They meet six times a year for an annual general meeting, a visioning retreat, and four quarterly governance meetings.
- In their role, board members usually help develop and review organizational policies, approve budgets and long-term plans, and monitor the organization’s progress. They also play an important part in nurturing community trust by acting as ambassadors, listening to community needs, and supporting strong relationships and partnerships.
- Advisory circle members
- Advisory Circle members participate on a flexible schedule that fits their interests and availability. They offer helpful advice on topics that matter to the community and to the organization.
- Advisors often share their experience in areas like programs, partnerships, outreach, and sector trends. They do not make governance decisions, but their insights strengthen the organization’s work and help shape future ideas and opportunities.

Founded in 2014, ArtsPond is a federally incorporated not-for-profit based in Toronto. Our mission is to nurture thriving ecosystems of care in all realms of life via the wisdom and creativity of arts and culture. In our first decade, we focused on such urgent issues such as poverty, gentrification, ableism, racism, and digital transformation. Currently, our priority is cultivating ecosystems and platforms that nurture disability and accessibility justice in the digital world.
