Cheryll Case, Associate Researcher (Groundstory)
Cheryll is an urban planner who digs deep into addressing the urban conditions that affect access to housing, work, and play. She specializes in designing for inclusive conversations that build relationships between various industries within the non-profit, private, and public sectors. She is a author and co-editor of House Divided, a Coach House Books anthology on housing in Toronto. Cheryll can be reached at cheryll@artspond.com until the end of August 2019.
Francesco Spagnolo, Translator (English to French)
Francesco is a fourth-year student at York University pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in French Studies. He has been ArtsPond’s English to French Translator for the past two summers. Francesco can be reached at francesco@artspond.com until the end of August 2019.
Heather Wood, Associate Producer (Artse United)
Heather was born and raised in Montreal and now make her home in Toronto. She is the author of two fiction books, Fortune Cookie and Roll With It, and her creative writing has appeared in several journals and anthologies. In 2016, she was nominated for a World Fantasy Award for editing the international anthology, Gods, Memes and Monsters: A 21stCentury Bestiary. Heather is the managing editor of the annual Best Canadian Poetry series, the artistic director of Toronto’s monthly Rowers Reading Series, and serves on the Writers’ Union of Canada National Council as Second Vice-Chair. Michael Pereira, Associate Researcher (Groundstory)
Michael is a recent graduate of the Communication and Culture MA program at Ryerson and York University. His research looked to uncover what it was like to be part of both the Portuguese and LGBTQ communities in Toronto in the 1970s and 1980s. He is keen to learn more about life in the city and across Ontario today as an Associate Researcher for Groundstory, and I look forward to contributing to a larger effort to make life more just and equitable for folks across the province at a time of significant instability. Felicity Campbell, Associate Researcher (Groundstory)
Felicity is an urban planner with a multidisciplinary background in research, project management, community development, and theatre performance. Her educational experience in international development, planning, and geography, inspires her to pursue integrated and cohesive approaches to social, economic and political problems. Felicity is interested in understanding the many ripple effects of the growing affordability crisis in Toronto and supporting policy reform to protect artists and other vulnerable groups from displacement. Cheryll, Michael and Felicity are providing critical support to an international literature review on gentrification and arts for Groundstory, supported by Canada Summer Jobs, Canada Council for the Arts, and Ontario Trillium Foundation. Francesco is contributing to English to French translation of all ArtsPond digital communications, supported by Canada Summer Jobs. Heather is coordinating marketing and community-engaged outreach activities including focus groups and an Ontario-wide tour of public consultations for Artse United, supported by Canada Council for the Arts.
