ArtsPond seeks a digital and finance-savvy individual to advise on the design of financial management modules for Hatch Open, an open source arts management software platform. Features include budgeting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payment processing, and basic accounting/reconciliation and aggregate reports in Phase 1 including T1 General for individuals, T2 Corporate, T3010 Charity Return, and CADAC (Canadian Arts Data) financials. The incumbent will primarily provide input on the design of Hatch Open’s chart of accounts and supporting back-end practices for tax and income reporting for individuals. Prior work completed to date includes mapping of 4,000 Hatch Open balance sheet and income statement accounts to GIFI General Index of Financial Information for corporations, which serves as the basis for directing financial data to Canada Revenue Agency’s tax returns.
The desired candidate will have excellent knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting, budgeting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other critical financial management practices in the Canadian arts and culture sector. Knowledge of international standards is an asset. ArtsPond is a unique non-profit organization that works within a flexible, open, remote digital office as well as in community. We are seeking a creative-minded individual who shares our values and are a good fit with our team. Contingent upon the availability of funding, this contract may be extended.
Up to $3,500 flat-fee plus applicable taxes, inclusive of incidental expenses as required.
This is a part-time, freelance (non-employee) contract from April to June 2021. The incumbent may work remotely from anywhere in Canada.
