Are you invested in deepening the power and promise of arts and culture-led systems change and care across Canada?
ArtsPond is seeking creative individuals from diverse backgrounds to join our volunteer board of directors for renewable one- to two-year terms. 2SLGBTQIA+, D/deaf, Disabled, Racialized, Indigenous, Outside the core, Women, Youth, Newcomers, and other equity-seeking and equity-deserving communities from anywhere in Canada are encouraged to apply.
Board members help guide our efforts to empower increased social cohesion and justice with, by, and for equity-seeking groups in arts and culture. Annual responsibilities encompass participation in four 90-minute governance meetings including one Annual General Meeting, plus one half-day (three hour) visioning retreat. Individual members may also contribute in other ways according to their personal and professional interest, such as joining a board committee or contributing to a special project. Currently, Executive Committee vacancies include Vice-Chair, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. We also invite a diverse committee of non-voting advisory members to consider providing guidance in whatever way they can.
Overall, we seek individuals with knowledge, experience, or interest in the artistic, cultural, and creative industries, information technology, urban planning and design, law, finance, marketing, fundraising, and strategic planning. Specific topics of interest may include community-engaged arts, disability arts, integrated arts, social innovation, collective impact, complexity and systems thinking, human-centered design, co-creation practices, social purpose real estate and urban planning, Indigenous reconciliation, Land Back, Black Lives Matter and anti-racism, fintech and open source software development, social finance, impact investing, UN’s 2030 Global Sustainable Development Goals, platform cooperativism, pandemic recovery, caring economy, mutual aid networks, non-profit, cooperative, and charitable governance, and more.

ArtsPond is a changemaker of a different kind. Our mission is to nurture healthy ecosystems that strengthen the vitality and well-being of human, digital, and natural life through the wisdom and creativity of arts and culture.
ArtsPond was founded in 2014 and incorporated federally as a not-for-profit in 2016. Our major activities include:
- Groundstory (collective impact effort on spatial precarity and gentrification in the GTHA, including scoping of a cultural land trust);
- DigitalASO (national effort building knowledge, ecosystems, and technologies for the equitable transformation of Canadian digital arts services, including two editions of Digital Arts Services Symposium 2017 and 2019);
- Hatch Open and Artse United (open source arts management, fintech, and impact investing software and platform cooperative);
- I Lost My Gig Canada (national mutual aid network on COVID-19 pandemic recovery and rejuvenation with, by, and for gig workers in the artistic, creative, and cultural industries);
- Together There (national thought residency and internal exchange on digital justice with, by, and for Indigenous, Racialized, d/Deaf, Disabled, Outside the core, and other equity-seeking arts workers)
